The void between Leo and Virgo.
I have been resonating very deeply with this astrological transition in my life and my business lately.
Finding myself in a place where the plans are now clear, and it’s time to just “get ‘er done”.
How about you?
Leo season has a quality of fullness to it.
There is warmth, creativity and visibility.
Leo wants to express itself.
To make something, celebrate something, or love something out loud.
There is a natural generosity in Leo energy, asking you to look at what is thriving.
Then Virgo arrives.
The light has not disappeared.
The summer has not ended.
But something is changing.
The question becomes less about what is glowing and more about what you’ll do with it.
Leo provides inspiration and Virgo invites you to cultivate.
Leo says, this matters.
Virgo says, then care for it.
This is a much more interesting way to understand the movement from Leo into Virgo than the typical ideas of one sign being “creative” and the other being “sensible”.
There is something deeper happening here: the movement from inspiration to devotion.
And devotion is a very different thing from enthusiasm.
Enthusiasm can show up in a flash, filling you with ideas and possibilities.
The life you want, the project you want to create, or the person you want to become is suddenly more visible to you.
But the excitement eventually dissolves and this is where Virgo arrives on set.
It’s here to ask you what happens when the inspiration is no longer new.
What happens when nobody is watching?
What happens when the dream requires repetition?
Ordinary Magic
And now it’s time for routine.
Time for focus and execution.
Time to make the appointments…
refine the techniques,
create the next post
water the garden
arrange the bits
get back on task
…to “do the thing”, over and over.
And there is something kind of revolutionary about this level of commitment because this is a culture that is captivated with the inception.
It’s the launches, announcements, breakthroughs, transformations and big ideas that are celebrated.
Leo totally gets this.
It knows how to create visibility ~ how to revel in the inspiration.
But Virgo knows something just as valuable.
Your dream needs a place in your life if it is going to become something tangible.
It needs structure if it is going to become your life.
Which means the bridge between Leo and Virgo may not be about leaving one kind of energy behind and embracing another.
Maybe it is about asking what your dreams and goals need from you now.
What part of your life is ready to evolve from inspiration into devotion?
What have you been thinking about for a long time?
What do you keep mulling over, that elevates you every time you think about it?
I’d like to suggest that, perhaps another surge of insight is not what is needed.
Perhaps all you need is to build a relationship with “the thing”.
A commitment and willingness to meet it on the ordinary days as well as the extraordinary ones.
Which brings up another question…
What wants to become a daily practice rather than a passing passion?
There is nothing wrong with passion.
Passion and desire are your signal that this is something you came here to do.
But passion alone is not enough.
At some point, the thing you love needs to become part of the flow of your life.
This is when inspiration transitions into execution.
And execution elevates you, building skills that ideas alone cannot provide.
Execution shows you:
Patience
Discernment
How to stay the course
This is also where the Leo to Virgo bridge is asking you to reconsider your relationship with validation.
Where are you pursuing recognition instead of proficiency?
That is not an easy question.
It is human nature to want to be seen.
There is nothing inherently wrong with that.
Leo likes to remind you that visibility matters.
Being seen can be fulfilling and so can being celebrated.
But there is a difference between being acknowledged for what you have accomplished and becoming deeply focused on what you are growing.
Proficiency is low-key.
It doesn’t always look good.
It is often built in seclusion and asks you to value the quality of the work without acknowledgement from others.
And perhaps this is one of Virgo’s great gifts.
Virgo supports your focus on the work itself ~ the practice, the craft.
Which leads to something else to think about…
What would happen if consistency became your most creative act?
It’s easy to think of creativity as something unrestrained and free-spirited.
Epiphanies
Potentialities
Insights
But there is another kind of creativity that develops from routine.
What happens when you show up often enough to discover what you actually have to say?
What happens when you work with an idea long enough for it to surprise you?
What happens when you keep returning to something instead of abandoning it the moment the initial excitement wears off?
Believe it or not, this is where the creativity lies.
Because there is creativity in refining, simplifying, understanding what is necessary and what needs to be surrendered.
Virgo does not necessarily make the dream smaller.
Virgo makes the dream workable.
And that may be the most important question of all.
Which dream is asking not for more vision, but for better systems?
It’s easy to assume that the solution to feeling jammed-up is a new vision board, a different idea, one more class/workshop, or just another wave of inspiration.
Sometimes the dream is not requiring you to dream bigger.
Sometimes it just needs you to build the circumstances ~ to set up the room in which it can actually reside.
What does this dream need from your calendar, routines, boundaries or environment ~ how you use your attention and spend your time?
These are powerful questions.
Leo provides the courage to say yes to what makes your soul shine.
Virgo asks you to build a life that will contain that yes.
That is the bridge:
The desire to create and the willingness to cultivate.
An invitation to take what has inspired you and give it somewhere to grow.
The dream is not less amazing once it has structure.
Putting it on the calendar does not make it less magical.
And systems do not mean the vision has become soulless.
Let your dream become a part of your daily life.
Because inspiration may show you what is possible.
But, devotion is what makes it real.
